LineTroll 111K - Utility pole mounted fault indicator for  6-66KV transmission lines


THE MONEY-SAVER

HOW IT WORKS:
Linetroll 111K contains magnetic and electric field sensors - sensing line current and line voltage. The magnetic sensor automatically adapts to line current, when di/dt increase rapidly the sensor will detect the overcurrent. The electric field sensor also monitor the presence of voltage potential. The sensor signals are processed and compared with a set of alarm criteria's configured by the user.
When a line fault (that fulfills the alarm criteria) occurs, all indicators installed between the feeding point and the fault location will signal an alarm.
A Xenon light indicates the passing fault current by releasing a omni-directional high intensity flash.

INSTALLATION:
Linetroll 111K is fitted on a utility pole 3 - 5 m below transmission lines, check the User Guide for details.
Linetroll 111K mounts with screws (included) or wrapping bands.
Linetroll 111K is easily tested with a magnet after installation.

Functional description:

LineTroll 110Eμ continuously monitors the line voltage and phase current, the sources of information it needs to operate. The unit is fully self-contained, no external transformers or connections is required. During normal line conditions, LineTroll 110Eμ remains extinguished.
The indicator is looking for a specific sequence of line conditions to happen before it starts flashing. The general sequence is as follows:
A. The line should be energised (voltage or current present) for a minimum of 5 seconds.
B. Di/Dt : The line current should increase rapidly by the amount of a user set value (the step level). Treshold, the line current exceeding a present current level.
C. The line should be de-energised. (Voltage or current not present).
The user may program the criteria for operation to suit his local requirements by manipulating a bank of micro-switches inside the indicator.

Note: Voltage or current as start and stop criteria is user programmable.

LineTroll 110 Tµ(r) Fault indicates earth- and shortcircuit - faults by detection of changes in the magnetic field set up by the fault current. The indicator can detect and independently indicate both permanent and transient faults.
